"Outstanding what a lovely place to stay"

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at grove fort. The holiday let was well equipped. It was lovely listening to the cows mooing in the mornings.Annette & Ivan made us welcome .We will be staying there again with out a doubt.

"The owners live near by but did not intrude on our privacy"

I would like to recommend the cottage to people who have transport. The cottage is not within walking distance of any amenities. The near by villages are lovely and have superior eating establishments. The local produce that is easily available to purchase is a real bonus. The kitchen is well fitted out with all cooking utensils available to use. We especially liked the log burner. There is a good supply of logs and fire wood. Bedrooms are very clean and comfy. The house is a fair size and has two sitting rooms, one large bathroom and a smaller shower room. These are lovely and clean also.
It is on a working farm, so is not ideal for families with children as there is no gardened off area. There is no out door space to enjoy the beautiful Irish country side. The only space available is at the front of the house. This is concrete and the cottage is on a small, pretty but busy road.

"The accommodation was spacious and comfortable in a lovely setting"

We had a lovely week at Grove Fort and really appreciated the friendly and helpful Rankin family, who did all they could to make our visit enjoyable. The accommodation could not have been better, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the local provided us with lots of Beautiful places to go walking and touring.

"Lovely stay"

Our family (2 parents, 2 kids, 6 and 3 yrs) stayed at Grove Fort for 4 weeks in July of 2012. We had a really lovely time - petted the donkey, wandered around in the fields after the sheep, fed long grass to the cows. A car was essential, but with a good map we had no trouble getting round to all the summer fairs, the local play areas, museums and shopping. The kitchen was fully equipped, so cooking was just like at home.
Very clean, very comfortable, and the Rankins were fantastics hosts. We're hoping the relatives remain in small houses so we have an excuse to return!

"fantastic, it was brill.5stars from me,"just fantastic thats all i can say ' realy'realy nice people, i would 100% use the grove fort again

"A Farmhouse Christmas"

An Irish Farmhouse in the beautiful rolling hills of County Down. Great access to Belfast and Dublin. The most friend;y and helpful of hosts. Warm even in winter, centrally heated and a welcoming fire. The family and friends all loved it. Many thanks to Ivan and annette.

I stayed in grove fort in June with my family (2 adults and 3 Young kids) coming from Italy and we really love our staying in this extra beautiful house. The bedrooms were very clean,  perfumed and spacious with new furnishings. Annette and Ivan were so kind that they invite us to pet the sheep and to play with their toys and ground plays. They even took us to visit a very old cave made for protection of people where foreigners could not find as it is not so publicized,  but it was free and something very original.
Many thanks to Annette and Ivan and see you again.
